A Dull Event by the Rotterdam band DULL SCHICKSAL (!984-1997) happened in december 1994 in 'Zaal De Unie' in Rotterdam and was a mixture of a cd presentation (but no songs of the forthcoming CD 'Herfstblad'ren' were played) and a cooperation project of the Dull Schicksal 'Big Band' and 4 people that came to join the company for this occasion; Helmuth Neugebauer (Vienna), Leonid Soybelman (Geneva, nowadays Berlin), Viola Kramer (Aachen) and Dick Verdult (aka. Dick El Demasiado). In a few days time a whole new repertoire was rehearsed and played once, just for this event. Dolf Planteidt recorded it on 16 tracks and mixed it. Just one of the songs played here was ever released on CD. Listening back we understand why there might not have been a release in those days; the playing is sometimes sloppy and not always tight. On the other hand; it has great atmosphere and most of the songs are quite good. So after more then 20 years we release this on the world. Hope you like it, world.
